Since the very first day of its activities, the State Housing Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been successfully continuing to perform its duties aiming at improving housing and domestic conditions of citizens and providing them with affordable housing, as instructed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Agency has been carrying out construction of affordable apartments in Ganja and Sumgait cities, along with the city of Baku.
Total area of the Ganja Residential Complex, another project of the State Housing Development Agency being constructed at Azerbaijani Flag Street in Ganja City, is 6.23 hectares.
On June 24, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva became familiar with the construction of the residential complex in Ganja City, and the head of the country gave his instructions with regard to the activity of the Agency.
The Ganja Residential Complex consist of 18 buildings, with 12 of them being nine-storied, while the remaining 6 buildings are twelve-storied. In total, these buildings will have 986 apartments, of which, 48 will be one-room, 68 studio-type, 318 two-room, 466-three-room, and 86 four-room apartments. Area of the one-room and studio-type apartments will be about 35 square metres, with two-room apartments being 57 m2, three-room apartments 75 m2, and four-room apartment about 97 m2. It is expected that along with residential buildings, a kindergarten for 125 children and a secondary school for 1176 pupils will be constructed here, and commissioned.
The project being implemented in Sumgait city consists of 2 nine-storied two-block buildings. In these buildings will, altogether, be 144 apartments, of which 18 are one-room, 18 of studio-type, 72 two-room, and 36 three-room apartments. Area of the one-room and studio-type apartments will be about 35 square metres, with two-room apartments being about 56 m2, and three-room apartments about 74 m2.
As in other residential complexes of SHDA, in the affordable housing projects being implemented in Ganja and Sumgait cities too, vast courtyards, areas of greenery and child playgrounds will be commissioned for citizens’ comfortable residence, along with construction of residential buildings. All apartments to be offered to citizens on preferential terms will be equipped with kitchen furniture, an individual heating system (including the heating device), gas, water and electricity meters, with completed interior finishing works.
It is expected that all works on the project being implemented in Sumgait city will soon be completed, and the buildings commissioned. The first phases of the works on the Ganja Residential Complex are expected to be finished in the current year, while their second phase is planned to complete until the end of the year 2021.
Works are underway aiming to find out land parcels where buildings may be constructed to improve housing conditions of citizens living in regions. Implementation of similar projects in other cities and districts of the republic is planned.
