The State Housing Development Agency and YAP (New Azerbaijan Party) hold a joint event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the 20th January tragedy17/01/2020

As is well known, the 30th anniversary of the 20th January tragedy, a glorious page of our people’s struggle for freedom and independence, is commemorated  this year.

On January 20, 1990, the pro-armenian Soviet Army committed a merciless crime - on the instruction of the USSR leadership - against the peaceful civilians who were struggling for their freedom. Nevertheless, our armless yet patriotic fellow citizens stood before the troops deployed to Baku. 

As you know, each year, our people commemorate this history of heroism at the highest level, remembering the victims of the tragedy with respect and esteem, and demanding that those who have committed this crime be made responsible by being judged at international tribunals. This year is the 30th anniversary of this history of heroism, eternally written in the memory of the Azerbaijani people, and on this occasion, our esteemed President Ilham Aliyev signed a Resolution. Based on this Resolution, an actions plan is being implemented at the moment - both in the country and beyond its boundaries -dedicated to the 30th anniversary of our people’s struggle for freedom. 

The objective of this meeting, held jointly by the State Housing Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Nasimi district organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, is to convey the special role and significance of the “20th January”, our history of heroism in regaining our independence.

Chairperson of the territorial organization of YAP Nasimi district organization for the State Housing Development Agency and head of the Apparatus of the Agency Farman Gurbanly, chairperson of YAP Nasimi district organization, MP Malahat Ibrahimgyzy, activists of the party and martyr’s families and invalids of the 20th January tragedy participated in the event. At the end of the event held in the administrative building of the district organization, they were provided with necessary aids.
